Tolland County is a county located in the northeastern part of Connecticut. The county is part of the Hartford metropolitan area. Tolland County is incorporated into thirteen towns and was originally formed in 1785 from towns in Windham County. As of the year 2000, there were 136,364 people, 49,431 households, and 34,156 families residing in Tolland county. The population density was 332 per square mile. There were 51,570 housing units at an average density of 126 per square mile. |
